Mr. Brian Bock
Mr Brian Bock has had an outstanding career spanning 45 years in the railway industry including 35 years of services in a variety of senior executive positions with Queensland Rail, Australia. Brian’s positions in QR included Manager Major Projects and Freight Product Manager, General Manager of QR’s Engineering and Technical Services, Group General Manager Workshops, Group General Manager Shared Services, Executive Manager Strategy and Corporate Affairs and Executive Manager International Industry Relations. In 2008-10 Brian worked as a Senior Advisor at the Headquarters of the International Union of Railways (UIC) in Paris, France. Brian has had roles of Chairman of the Australian Railway Industry Technology Council, Deputy Chairman of the Transport Panel Institution of Engineers Queensland Division and Member of the Australian Rail Operations Unit. Brian was a major contributor to the development of Australia’s National rail safety framework and many other rail industry projects and developments. He has been highly involved in the International Heavy Haul Association as a Director since 1994 and as Chairman in 2000 – 2001 during which time he hosted the IHHA Conference in Brisbane, Australia. Currently Brian is managing his own consulting company B Bock Advisory Pty Ltd. He has held Board positions on two rail Co-operative Research Centres in Australia and is currently Chairman of Rail CRC IP Pty Ltd. In the past 10 years Brian has undertaken assignments in Australia, Indonesia, UAE, Mongolia, India, China and the Philippines.
