Thor Braekkan is the Director of the Northern Region at Bane NOR, Norway’s state-owned railway infrastructure company. He has more than 35 years of experience in the railway industry, having spent most of his career leading departments responsible for railway infrastructure maintenance and development.

In his current role, Braekkan is responsible for railway infrastructure in Northern Norway, including the Ofoten and Nordland lines. These routes play an important role in freight transportation, connecting the region with key industrial and logistics hubs. His experience in infrastructure management and development contributes to the operation and improvement of Norway’s railway network.
