Warren Wellbeloved was appointed General Manager Rail for WA Iron Ore in 2019 and is accountable for BHP’s extensive rail operations and maintenance in the Pilbara region. 

Warren started his working career in South Africa and has more than 18 years’ experience with BHP, having worked across multiple commodities, geographies and operational disciplines.  

Prior to his current role, Warren was Manager Rolling Stock Maintenance in the Rail team.

Warren is passionate about supporting and developing people. He believes that true workforce engagement is critical to drive continuous improvement in safety, productivity and culture.

Warren holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, post graduate qualification in Asset Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from UCLA and the National University of Singapore. 

Warren has lived in Port Hedland with his wife and two children for more than twelve years and enjoys the strong sense of community.
