William Schuh is the Manager of Engineering at Aurizon, Australia’s largest rail freight operator. He brings over 14 years’ experience across rollingstock and track asset management in heavy haul rail. His work has delivered infrastructure and maintenance transformations that have improved network performance while reducing whole‑of‑life cost, supported by deep technical expertise in the wheel–rail interface. William’s experience spans both below‑rail and rollingstock systems, with a clear focus on efficiency, reliability, and enabling Australia’s road‑to‑rail agenda. He is strongly committed to developing technical capability across the rail industry and believes closer integration between industry and the education system is critical to the long‑term success of the sector.
