Dear Heavy Haulers and Associates,

As you are all aware, the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak had a huge impact on activities of IHHA, and we are glad to note that the situation is improving globally. On behalf of the International Heavy Haul Association (IHHA), it is with regret to announce that the 12th IHHA Conference that was planned to be held in China will no longer go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances. IHHA would like to thank the Chinese team for organizing the conference and we extend our gratitude to all Heavy Haul professionals who sent their abstracts and written papers to serve at this Conference.

On other hand, IHHA is delighted to announce that the 12th IHHA Conference will be held in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, from August 27 to September 1. The Theme for this conference is: Application of Heavy Haul Innovations for a Sustainable World. This includes 2 days of the pre-conference Technical Workshop, 3 days of the Main Conference and 1 day for the Technical Tour. A new call for abstracts will be issued soon. The Conference Planning Committee is reviewing the papers that were already submitted as part of the China Conference and will inform all authors about the outcome. This could include a request to have some of the China Conference papers severed at the IHHA conference in Brazil depending on alignment to the new Theme of the conference and update required on the content of the paper, if any.
